Ballerina in white tutu, on cover of  L’Opéra : numéro spécial 59 du Figaro Illustré, February 1895. Jean Béraud (French, 1849-c.1935). Biblioteca Nacional de França.
Beraud initially worked on portraits. In the late 70s, he turned to depictions of Parisian daily life, combining the accuracy of observation with a note of humor.
